Groups and meetings

Host your group lakeside

Tamarack Lodge sits directly on East Grand Traverse Bay, ten minutes or so from downtown Traverse City, and it stays open all year. That makes it a working place to gather a party: rooms in one building, a private beach out the door, and a front desk that is staffed around the clock. Here is who tends to book a block.

  • Sports teams

A block of king and two-queen rooms, an indoor pool and hot tub open from 8 AM to 10 PM, and a beach to walk out onto the morning after a game.

  • Couples getaways

Walkout and balcony rooms with a soaker spa tub, an electric fireplace and a view of East Grand Traverse Bay, booked as a few rooms side by side.

  • Wellness weekends

The cedar sauna, the hot tub, Centre Ice Fitness access with every stay, and a coffee, tea and hot chocolate station that never closes.

  • Family reunions

One to three bedroom suites with a kitchen, a washer and dryer and a sofa sleeper, and outdoor grills on the sand for the long dinner table.

  • Birthday celebrations

Beachfront firepits at sunset, grills on the shore, and billiards waiting in the Main Lodge when the light goes.

  • Company retreats

Meeting space for up to 50 people, with your rooms and suites on the same property.

Where a group ends up in the evening

Most blocks gather in the same few places: the sand, the fire pit, the grills and the great room at the Main Lodge.

Meeting space

Meeting space for up to 50 people

Planning a retreat, a training weekend or a family business meeting? The lodge has meeting space for up to 50, arranged through the sales office rather than the reservations desk. Write to sales@tamaracklodgetc.com with your headcount and dates, and ask for a room block at the same time.

Bigger parties often split across room types. A few families take the one to three bedroom condominium suites, with kings in every bedroom and a full kitchen in the two and three bedroom units, while the rest of the group books hotel rooms with one king or two queens. Everything comes with the beach, the pool and hot tub in the Cedar Cottage wing, and the 24-hour coffee station. The amenities page lists the rest.

What the lodge does not host

No weddings, but your guests can still stay together

Tamarack Lodge does not host weddings. If you are marrying somewhere else around Traverse City, the lodge can hold group and wedding hotel blocks for your guests, so the family and the friends who travel in are under one roof on the bay and a short drive from the ceremony.

Send the sales office your guest count and the weekend, and say whether people want rooms, suites or a mix. The lodge is smoke-free and pet-free, and reservations are for guests 21 and over, so tell your guests before they pack.
